Overview

Discover a more connected career Pauley Construction, as a Foreman on our Telecom Underground team, will lead crews in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunication systems. You’ll ensure safety protocols and project timelines are followed. This role includes work direction, coordination and oversight of a crew ranging from 2-8 employees or subcontractors, with responsibility for safety, materials, reporting, customers, leadership, employee communication, and productivity measures.

The crew may oversee operations such as trench & plow, aerial, drilling/bore, asphalt or conduit, and machine operation as needed. The foreman interfaces with customers and city inspectors, coordinates pre-construction meetings, keeps safety and production records, completes as-builds as required, and leads all crews. The ideal candidate will be a skilled excavation operator and may assist with permits, site safety, and locates.

• Lead crews to meet project timelines and maintain overall safety, quality, and productivity.
• Direct work within a crew or among subcontractors, including safety oversight and-site coordination.
• Assist in securing sites, safety programs, and compliance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Perform general maintenance, utility installation/repair, and assist with as-builds ensuring attention to detail.
• Read and understand blueprints; interface with customers, property owners, and inspectors; resolve issues as they arise.
• Operate and supervise excavation equipment; ensure safe operation in all weather and site conditions.
• Support administrative tasks related to hiring, training, and day-to-day supervision.
• Provide training to crew members and ensure proper safety policies are followed.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and communicate with stakeholders to align expectations.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain accurate safety, production, and material records.

• 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license
• Background check and company drug screening successful completion
• Ability to attend and pass required training; may require overtime, nights, weekends, or on-call work
• Willingness to travel in-state or overnight as needed
• Regular and timely attendance
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience; relevant foreman experience preferred

• Ability to stand, crouch, sit, bend, reach, and operate or inspect equipment; ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds continuously
• Moderate noise level; exposure to outside weather and varying environmental conditions
• Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and moving machinery; work in extreme temperatures and hazardous conditions may occur
• Ability to see close, distance, color, peripheral, and to adjust focus as needed

The Foreman Telecom Underground hourly wage range is $20.00 - $45.00, depending on experience.
