Job Summary: The Service Tech 4 – HVAC performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, guiding junior technicians, and ensuring systems are running efficiently.
- Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds the customer’s expectations.
- Performs repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.
- Conducts preventative maintenance activities by diagnosing equipment malfunction and operating deficiencies to ensure quality work performance.
- Processes job tickets and work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
- Provides training to new or less‑qualified technicians as needed.
- Maintains proper truck inventory and operates company vehicle safely.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education / Training: High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes. Must have passed Tech Skills Level 4 with an 80% or better. Valid EPA certificate.
Work Experience &
Skills:
- 3–5 years’ experience in construction HVAC, refrigeration, or a related industry.
- Chiller experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping, and of computer‑controlled systems.
- Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical and plumbing blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.
- Good communication and presentation skills and excellent customer service.
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies, procedures and all applicable state and federal laws.
