CDL Driver​/Laborer - Talus

Job Overview

CDL Driver/Laborer assisting in construction activities for the placement of underground telecommunications cable/fiber and/or sewer pipeline installations. Must be willing to work on a construction crew and participate in on‑call rotation.

• Perform general construction work under the direction of a foreman or supervisor.
• Hand‑dig holes and trenches with a shovel and other hand tools.
• Possess basic knowledge of underground cable locating.
• Operate various types of trucks and equipment.
• Transport equipment and materials.
• Install underground telecommunications cabling.
• Flag traffic and set up a safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
• Perform daily walkarounds and alert mechanics of any defects.
• Communicate effectively with customers and employees.

• Climb into and out of equipment (cars, trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc.).
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Know and obey all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations.
• Accept repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder.
• Work outdoors in diverse environments, including congested and remote areas.
• Endure standing or sitting for several hours at a time.
• Work in small or sometimes confined areas.
• Work in variable heights and depths.
• Lift and carry up to 75+ pounds.
• Reach, bend, and stoop while performing work.
• Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons, vehicles, and objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
