Responsibilities
Valley Hospital Phoenix is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. A Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, testing and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance, and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision. The Technician is also responsible for ensuring timely completion of work orders.
Duties:
- Perform painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, HVAC and tests and inspections of the physical plant.
- Clean and change air filters as required through the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility.
- Maintain facility grounds in a neat and attractive appearance.
- Operate and maintain emergency power plant.
- Maintain all light fixtures in good working condition and change light bulbs as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance electrical tests and repair of all mechanical/electrical HVAC equipment under supervision.
- Perform various janitorial duties.
- Keep tools and materials in good condition and in their proper location.
- Handle hand/power tools and equipment with necessary safety precautions.
- Ensure proper tag-out and lock-out procedures when working on equipment.

ScheduleThis is a full-time, Day Shift position working hours per week.
QualificationsEducation: High school graduate or equivalent preferred; two years of technical or trade school. Preferred: one of the trades with 2 or more years of experience.
Experience: Must have experience operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment with proper safety precautions. Must have experience in building maintenance, basic mechanical engineering, and HVAC.
Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license and a Universal HVAC license.
Additional Requirements: Must have complete knowledge of the physical plant within two weeks of hire.
