Job Title
Under direct supervision, incumbent performs skilled structural/carpentry duties including repairs and installations of doors, hardware, drywall, flooring, and framing. Incumbant also troubleshoots and maintains roofing systems. In addition, incumbent completes work orders, proactively communicates with District staff members, monitors inventory of supplies and equipment, and ensures compliance with various local, state, and federal laws, codes, and regulations.
Essential Functions- Repair and maintain all types of roofs including:
Foam, single-ply membrane, standing seam, asphalt,and fiberglass shingle. Install, maintain and repair flashings,expansion joints, sheet metal counterflashings, fascia, gutter and downspouts, roof penetrations for conduits, pipes,vents,and curbs for equipment. Inspect and determine locations and causes of roof leaks on all District facilities. - Operates and understands the operation of the following tools:
Foam pack, power washer, table saws, circular saw, radial arm saw, - Tile saw, carpet tools; maintain tools and equipment in safe working conditions.
P - Records and submits all required job task information including, materials, labor hours, and 'action taken' on District work order system. Reviews assigned tasks in District work order system to ensure incumbent is aware of all outstanding work orders.
- Communicates with District personnel and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns. Collaborates with other maintenance department crews to ensure that the District's educational environment is not disrupted.
- Monitors, maintains, and ensures the security of District tools, equipment, and vehicle(s).
- Monitors and replenishes shop and truck stock and inventory items. Organizes and keeps stock up to date.
- Ensures compliance with district policies, Arizona State School Facilities Board (AZSFB) preventive maintenance requirements, and federal, state
- building, health and safety codes.
- If directed, spot checks work of contractors to update supervisors on status of projects.
- Performs other duties as required.
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired;
- Three to five years of structural/roofing experience;
- Valid Arizona Department of Transportation Driver's License.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints ( IVP ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- Five years of experience in the installation and repair of all types of roofing;
- Completion of trade school or equivalent;
- Five years of commercial structural/carpentry experience;
- Commercial drivers license
