Position Overview
Maintenance Engineer II – Full‑time position at Arizona Biltmore, a 700‑room resort in Phoenix, Arizona. The role primarily functions as a Quick Caller Maintenance technician but may be assigned to other duties as needed. Availability: 3:30PM – 12AM, Sunday through Thursday.
Essential Functions- Perform maintenance tasks in guest suites, public spaces, outlets, and back‑of‑house areas.
- Respond to guest calls and complete written assignment sheets provided by supervisors.
- Visually inspect for items requiring repair.
- Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades.
- Appropriately respond to fire or other emergency procedures.
- Adhere to OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Schedule workload effectively and maintain detailed record‑keeping for logs and inspection sheets.
- Demonstrate commitment to eliminating or reducing the risk of injury to guests and associates, and preventing damage to property.
- Act appropriately during any emergency situation.
- Perform routine repair and maintenance of buildings and rooms as assigned.
- Maintain a working understanding of basic plumbing and residential electrical systems.
- Maintain knowledge of all hand tools used in the performance of assigned duties.
- Perform routine maintenance of fire pits, fireplaces, paint, and wallcovering.
- Perform routine repair and maintenance of buildings as assigned.
- Maintain knowledge of painting hand tools, spray equipment, and application techniques for different paints and textures.
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functions.
- Report major repairs and items that cannot be repaired to supervisors and initiate suite out‑of‑order as necessary.
- Perform other duties and special projects such as waterproofing, shop cleanup, and labeling of hazardous materials.
- Education
:
High school diploma or equivalent (required). Training or apprenticeship in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical (preferred). - Experience
:
Basic experience in maintenance trades—including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry; prior customer service experience; at least one year of experience in a hotel or resort (preferred). - Licenses & Certifications
:
Certification in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical (preferred);
Valid Arizona Driver’s License; CPR/First Aid Certified; CPO Certification (preferred).
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, certifications, and location. Compensation may differ in other locations due to cost‑of‑labor considerations.
