Position:
Laborer Telecom Underground III at Pauley Construction. Responsible for advanced underground telecommunications construction, leading small teams, performing skilled tasks, ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Dig with hand shovel and mechanical tools.
  • Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
  • Climb in and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.).
  • Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Work in congested or remote areas.
  • Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles to ensure safe coordination of movement.
  • Perform general construction work under direction of the Foreman/Supervisor.
  • Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine issues, escalating complex problems.
  • Provide support to small work groups to meet project goals on time and follow safety standards.
  • Complete and verify detailed production reports to maintain accurate project records.
  • Assist with site restoration efforts, including final grading and landscaping, to meet client expectations.
  • Train and mentor Level I and II laborers to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Three years of experience in underground telecommunications construction or a related field.
  • Valid State driver's license (non‑provisional) with acceptable driving record.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
  • Pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Attend and pass all required company training.
  • May be required to work overtime, after hours, weekends, or be on‑call as needed.
  • May be required to work nights and holidays as matters arise.
  • May be required to travel within state or overnight as necessary.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
Additional Qualifications
  • Proficient troubleshooting and operational skills under supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
  • Effective communication with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Independently work in team environments.
  • Proven leadership experience to direct workflow and produce high quality results.
  • Ability to understand and apply written, oral, and procedural instructions.
  • Basic mathematics skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret safety rules, machine manuals, and process procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively.
Physical & Safety Requirements
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne pathogens.
  • May be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals and moving machinery.
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.

Pay

Hourly wage range: $21.15 – $25.96, depending on experience.
