Aircraft Maintenance/ Mechanic
STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics in Phoenix, Arizona. We are looking for highly motivated aircraft maintenance professionals to help grow our line maintenance station in Phoenix and take their professional experience to the next level.
The A&P Maintenance Technician supports the daily maintenance operations of our customers and helps ensure an outstanding experience by providing top-level service. This role is ideal for licensed A&P Mechanics with line maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work on commercial aircraft in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment.
Position SummarySTS Line Maintenance is one of the largest line maintenance support providers in the United States. We provide quality, reliable aircraft line maintenance and servicing throughout an extensive rapid-response, nationwide network.
Job Responsibilities & Duties- Report directly to the Station Manager and Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technicians
- Work closely with field airlines, flight crews, and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers
- Ensure aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment
- Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results
- Follow maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documentation
- Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and repair or replace as required
- Work outdoors and in inclement weather as required
- Perform work on 737, 767, A320, and 787 aircraft
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary
- Must hold a current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License with no history of infractions
- Recent A&P experience on turbine-powered aircraft considered a plus
- Must own a set of standard line maintenance tools
- Calibrated and specialty tooling will be provided
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Able to perform with minimal supervision
- With or without accommodations, must be able to work standing
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. - Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Must be able to obtain Customs and Border Patrol clearance
- Must have basic to mid-level computer and organizational skills
- Experience working under an FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station or Part 135 experience is highly desired
- Inspection Authorization License is a plus
- Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair systems on aircraft airframes and engines with little supervision
- Aircraft systems experience should include electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Versatility and flexibility are important, as the schedule could include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Superior customer focus, communication skills, and work ethic with a commitment to excellence
Rate of pay is determined by previous experience and formal training, with a pay range between $32 and $40 per hour.
