Lead Security Installation Specialist

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is looking for a Lead Security Installation Specialist to join our team of outstanding professionals installing Physical Access Control System (PACS) and Video Surveillance Systems (VSS) for the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT) certificate is a major plus.

Monday-Thursday (4x10hr) schedule, with flexibility to work paid overtime if approved and requested.

Locations: DSW Region (Arizona, California, Nevada). Expected travel: approximately 90%.

• Serve as a primary leader for execution on assigned projects. Develop project schedules and execute according to plan.
• Assist in managing the scope of work, procurement, quality of project materials, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Manage install teams in remote locations.
• Responsible for installing Electronic and Technical Security Systems to DoE guidelines and requirements.
• Read, interpret, and draw electrical, electronic, and electro‑mechanical schematics.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters and cable testers (e.g., Fluke, Klein, Ideal).
• Follow strict installation wiring guidelines and read building construction plans (blueprints). Knowledgeable with National Electric Code (NEC) requirements such as grounding and electrical safety.
• Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and testing of security wiring and power circuits.
• Familiar with and have a working knowledge of multiple systems including IP CCTV Surveillance Systems such as Milestone, Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems such as Lenel, Mechanical and electromechanical locking systems (electronic strikes, locks, mag’s, etc.).

• Must be a U.S. Citizen able to pass and obtain a government background check including financial, credit, and criminal checks.
• Current passport and valid driver’s license.
• High school or trade school; a bachelor’s degree is nice to have.
• At least 10 years of progressive technical experience including proven experience leading the installation of security systems (PACS and VSS).
• Extensive experience as a successful team lead, managing both schedule and personnel.
• Experience as a technician with installation of electronics/electrical systems including intrusion detection systems, access control systems, video surveillance systems, intercom systems, mass notification systems, conduit installation, and low voltage electrical systems.
• Ability to use basic test equipment and prepare site test data and documentation.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or under limited supervision.
• Detail oriented, self‑motivated, and able to work in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.

• Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT).
• Low voltage license.

$100,000 - $120,000
