Electrical Installer

Job Overview

Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven and forward‑thinking Electrical Installer to join our culture. In this role you will install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment—including security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation—with minimal guidance. You will work closely with customers and internal colleagues to provide technical installation support and training.

• Install, program, test, repair, and service security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation systems.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and repair equipment using standard test instruments and hand tools.
• Provide basic installation assistance as directed by project lead.
• Act as the primary liaison to project lead and provide feedback regarding problems and timelines.
• Take ownership of onsite projects including safety, quality, and performance, and observe Convergint Quality Standards.
• Make suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
• Assist or train less‑experienced Electrical Installers and refer more complex issues to experienced colleagues.
• Learn progression tasks toward an Electrical Installer III role.
• Provide timely project status updates and maintain customer focus while working under pressure.
• Maintain the use of proper safety, tools, and equipment.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in electronic security industry.
• Construction experience including some level of electrical or low voltage background.
• Solid understanding of blueprints, design drawings, wiring schematics, and cable support installation.
• Strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with hand and power tools; ability to read blueprints, perform math calculations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics independently; assistance may be required for complex specifications.

• Experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
• Experience with Axis, Bosch, DMP, Lenel, or software house interfaces.
• Relevant trade designation (e.g., electrician).
• Certifications or licenses:
  Project Management Institute (PMI); other industry‑specific certifications.

• Not CDL (preferred).
