Position Title: Equipment & Fleet Mechanic
Reports To: Director of Fleet & Equipment Management

Job Summary
The Shop Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of landscaping equipment and vehicles. This role ensures that all machinery is in optimal working condition to support the company's landscaping operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on equipment and vehicles, including brakes, tires and batteries.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Duties
- Inspect and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Replace or repair parts, such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Keep the shop area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in automotive or small engine repair is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with landscaping equipment.
- Experience with both gas and diesel engines.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Requirements
Qualifications- Proven experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of trailers, light trucks, and small equipment.
- Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting and wiring repairs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment and parts as required.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
