OverviewTransdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Level 2 Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Pay Details- Starting pay $28.61 with progression to $30.04 over 4 months.
- ASE $0.25 per certification, $0.30 additional for Master ASE.
- Master ASE total $2.30 above hourly rate.
- Vacation: up to 80 hours a year.

- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
- Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A‑Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
- 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- ASE certifications preferred; a certification program is provided.
- Mechanic’s tool set.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable, in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity conditions 100% of the job is performed outside, alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day) and frequently walk for long distances on uneven or slippery surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
