Fire Protection Maintenance Technician Details:
  • Contract to Hire position
  • $23.50 /hour
  • First Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 03:00pm)
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly visual inspection of fire protection equipment in accordance with NFPA 10, NFPA 25, and NFPA 72
  • Perform general maintenance to ensure fire protection equipment is kept clean

    Note:

    Maintenance activities required for this role are not those covered by certified fire protection personnel
  • Perform maintenance activities for fire extinguishers and related equipment.

    Activities include tagging, signing, checking, installing, and relocating fire extinguishers as needed
  • Installing “company property” stickers or barcode stickers
  • Address customer service requests as submitted
  • Upon completion of work, must be able to prepare inspection reports, recording all work performed and deficiencies identified
  • Support FLS/ISEP needs as directed by manager
Fire Protection Maintenance Technician

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma Required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Always follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, and act accordingly
  • Ability to follow written practices, maintenance, and operating procedures
  • Strong attention to details
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Capable of working independently and exhibiting effective time management skills
  • The Fire Protection Maintenance Technician may spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in environments where various types of PPE are required
  • Must be able to perform general maintenance activities
  • Will be required to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, carry and adjust heavy objects such as fire extinguishers
  • Capable of walking for 50% - 75% of the workday, including the use of stairs
