Role Description The Fire Alarm Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Phoenix, AZ. This role is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems and related life safety equipment in multi-family and commercial properties. Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting alarm system issues, performing scheduled inspections, completing service reports, and ensuring code and regulatory compliance. The technician will respond to service calls, support after-hours emergencies as needed, and coordinate with team members and building stakeholders to communicate findings and recommendations.
The role also involves educating customers on system operation and safety best practices while upholding Fireshield's standards for professionalism, quality, and courteous service.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in Low Voltage Engineering and Alarm Systems, including installation, programming, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability in Troubleshooting fire alarm and related life safety systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of Life Safety codes, standards, and best practices for fire alarms and fire protection systems.
- Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with building owners, managers, and occupants.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in fire alarm systems or low-voltage electrical work (e.g., NICET or state/local equivalents) preferred.
- Experience working with multi-family and commercial properties and familiarity with local fire and building codes in Arizona is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
- Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to job sites in the Phoenix area.
- Capacity to work safely, follow established procedures, and maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and service calls.
