Service Technician III – Commercial HVAC
Location:
Phoenix, AZ | Direct Hire
Pay Range: $35-45/hour
Manpower is partnering with a leading commercial mechanical services organization to hire a Service Technician III in Phoenix, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level HVAC professional with strong commercial service experience and advanced troubleshooting capabilities across large-scale HVAC systems, controls, airside equipment, pumps, piping systems, and commercial mechanical equipment.
The ideal candidate is a self-directed technician who can diagnose complex issues, deliver exceptional customer service, coordinate multi-tech service calls, and serve as a technical resource for other technicians in the field.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment and systems.
Service split systems, mini-splits, rooftop units, VRF / VRV systems, water source heat pumps, AHUs, self-contained systems, CRAC units, pumps, and piping systems.
Perform preventative maintenance, service contract work, quoted projects, and demand service calls.
Read and interpret complex mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.
Coordinate work activities on large projects and multi-technician service calls.
Communicate system status, findings, and recommendations with customers and internal stakeholders.
Provide technical support, training, and guidance to service technicians.
Coordinate subcontractors and assist with project execution.
Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
Purchase materials and coordinate with suppliers as needed.
Maintain service vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service and communication.
5-7 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
High School Diploma or GED.
EPA Certification and/or applicable HVAC licenses or certifications.
Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, service processes, and industry codes.
Ability to work independently in the field.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Two-year technical degree in HVAC, Mechanical Systems, or a related field.
Experience with Siemens, Johnson Controls, Distech, or other building automation and controls platforms.
Previous experience mentoring, training, or leading technicians.

Rooftop units up to 150+ tons
Water source heat pumps up to 120 tons

CRAC units
Chillers:
Air-cooled chillers
Water-cooled chillers
Scroll, reciprocating, screw, and magnetic-bearing chillers
Variable speed drive (VFD) applications
Centrifugal chiller theory
Airside Systems:
Air handling units (AHUs)
VAV and fan-powered boxes
Exhaust fans
Control valve operation
VFD applications
Pumps & Piping Systems:
Pump configurations and components
Chiller configurations
Flow control devices
Circuit setters
Strainers and backflow devices
