Top 3 Skillsets Terminations - hooking up wires to terminal blocks and field devices, loop checks Reading wiring diagrams - can look at a print and trace where a wire goes PLC exposure - wiring PLCs to valves/sensors, automation background is a plus (Axon techs are great fits)

Day in the Life Tech shows up to a data center jobsite.

They spend the day inside electrical panels and junction boxes, terminating control wiring, wiring up sensors and instruments, and making sure everything matches the diagram.

They're testing and troubleshooting equipment, checking that signals are reading correctly, and working alongside engineers who are commissioning the systems. It's hands on, on your feet most of the day, some ladders and tight spaces, but it's steady daytime hours (5am-3:30pm) with 20hours guaranteed OT every week.

This is a growing account with more projects already lined up, so it's a strong shot at long term work, not just a one and done gig.
