Entry-Level Technician
This entry-level technician role focuses on the service, maintenance, and repair of airplane wheels and braking systems. You will perform hands-on mechanical tasks, use specialized equipment, and support production requirements in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities- Deflate aircraft tires safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Break the torque and bead of tires to prepare wheels for maintenance and repair.
- Remove bearings and related hardware, including bolts, washers, and nuts, from aircraft wheels.
- Clean hardware and wheels using aqueous or solvent-based cleaning machines.
- Remove paint from wheels and components using dry systems such as bead blasting, as needed.
- Operate heavy-duty hydraulic jacks and other equipment to perform wheel maintenance functions.
- Assist other departments when necessary to support overall production and maintenance operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet maintenance, safety, and production goals.
- Work cooperatively within provided timelines and meet assigned production requirements.
- Follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals while performing all tasks.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and also perform tasks independently.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Comfort using hand tools and performing basic mechanical and mechanical assembly tasks.

- Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate clearly by talking and hearing.
- Ability to occasionally sit and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Skills & Qualifications
- Interest in aviation maintenance, production, or mechanical work.
- Willingness to learn how to operate heavy-duty hydraulic jacks and specialized maintenance equipment.
- Attention to detail when cleaning, disassembling, and reassembling mechanical components.

Work EnvironmentThis role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in an indoor facility equipped with swamp coolers and fans to help maintain a comfortable working temperature. You will work around aircraft wheels, braking systems, aqueous and solvent-based cleaning machines, bead blasting equipment, and heavy-duty hydraulic jacks. The position is contract-to-hire, with conversion to direct employment typically considered after several months based on attitude and performance.
The physical environment is active and hands-on, requiring regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds. Safety is a priority, and you must wear safety glasses and safety shoes with composite or steel toes; no personal tools are required. The workplace emphasizes adherence to safety rules, operating instructions, and FAA-related compliance requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
