Salary: 40.00 - 56.00 USD / HOUR
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial and industrial chillers as well as other applied level equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on applied equipment and chiller systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues
- Perform compressor, motor, pump, valve, and component repairs or replacements
- Evaluate system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and related refrigeration work
- Troubleshoot chilled-water systems, pumps, cooling towers, and associated HVAC equipment
- Document service findings, repairs, recommendations, and equipment conditions
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding system issues and recommended repairs
- Coordinate with Service Dispatch, Service Management, and other IMCOR technicians as needed
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and assigned inventory
- Follow IMCOR safety procedures and customer-specific site requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience required.
- Minimum 2 years in demonstrated experience servicing and troubleshooting chillers is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical troubleshooting, controls, and chilled-water systems
- Experience with centrifugal, screw, scroll, and reciprocating chiller systems preferred
- Experience with major equipment manufacturers such as Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, or similar equipment preferred
- Ability to read electrical schematics, equipment documentation, and mechanical drawings
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
- Ability to work independently while providing a high level of customer service
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Manufacturer-specific chiller training or certifications are highly valued
We are looking for a technician who understands that chiller service goes beyond replacing parts. The right candidate can evaluate an entire mechanical system, identify the true cause of an equipment problem, explain findings to the customer, and recommend the appropriate repair or solution.
Experience with
chiller performance testing, major repairs, compressor replacement, start-up, commissioning, and complex troubleshooting is especially valuable.
