Field Service​/Start-Up Engineer

We are seeking a Field Service / Start-Up Engineer I to provide on-site service, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair support for semiconductor processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and excellent customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor processing equipment.
• Diagnose equipment problems and take corrective action to minimize downtime.
• Install and replace equipment parts and components.
• Perform equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations as required.
• Respond to emergency service calls when needed.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate with customers, peers, and supervisors to minimize equipment downtime.
• Train and instruct customer technicians on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and tools through training, technical manuals, factory publications, and other resources.
• Maintain and secure company property, including tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Follow all company and customer site safety, security, and conduct requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology is preferred.
• Entry-level candidates (0+ years
  ) with relevant education and hands-on technical skills are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with maintenance, repair, installation, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity

• Ability to use hand tools and appropriate technical equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills

• Ability to understand and follow technical procedures, maintenance requirements, and safety protocols.

Physical & Work Environment

• Work may be performed in cleanroom environments, confined areas, awkward positions, and elevated locations
  .
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• May require frequent bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, and standing/walking for extended periods.
• Ability to walk 10,000+ steps per shift and navigate multiple flights of stairs during extended shifts.
• Ability to work around chemicals, electrical currents/high voltage, moving mechanical components, radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions while following appropriate safety procedures.
• PPE may be required, including safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and cleanroom garments

• Requires appropriate vision abilities, including close, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Travel

• Occasional travel may be required to factory locations, training facilities, and customer sites
  .
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, mechanically inclined entry-level engineer/technician who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment, working in cleanroom and confined environments, interacting directly with customers, and following strict safety procedures.
