Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engine (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutch and differential systems.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
  • Road test vehicles to confirm correct operation after repairs.
  • Identify problems, assess information accuracy, and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
  • Independently manage parts inventory on the company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliations.
  • Maintain and operate the service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve issues.
  • Prioritize and manage concurrent tasks and allocate time efficiently.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required.
  • Document work and upload pictures, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) via the company iOS device and TRAIT application.
  • Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
  • Work independently, manage daily schedule, and maintain high productivity, meeting standard repair times.
  • Source parts from approved local and national vendors.
  • Communicate with management and support teams to obtain repair approvals and discuss RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED plus at least 3 years of related experience (alternative combinations of education, training, or experience are acceptable).
  • At least 3 years of experience working with refrigerated equipment.
  • Ability to supply and maintain necessary hand tools.
  • OEM training and certifications preferred.
  • Completion of all company‑required training.
  • Pass DOT‑regulated background screening, DOT physical, and hold a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Minimum age 21 years.
