Shape reliability every shift at Reddy Ice As our Electro-Mechanical Reliability Technician II, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping our manufacturing systems and facilities running at peak performance. Your day blends hands-on diagnostics, precision repairs, and smart improvements that shorten processing times and cut downtime. You’ll draw on strong electrical skills, practical welding know-how, and journeyman-level maintenance experience to keep production moving safely and smoothly.
Whata typical day looks like
- Execute preventive maintenance across plant equipment and building systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues to quickly restore equipment functionality.
- Select, identify, and use the right tools and techniques to complete high-quality repairs.
- Perform small facility/property repairs and assist with equipment operation when needed to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with operations and peers in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment; manage priorities under pressure.

Education & experience required- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in an industrial maintenance operation.
- Maintenance certification—one of the following:
- Journeyman Certification/License in Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical disciplines (State Certifying Authority)
- Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator — Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA)
- Certified Maintenance Technician Level III — International Maintenance Institute (IMI)
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician — Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP)
- 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Completion of two of the following certifications:
- Programmable Logic Controller Certification — Electronics Technicians Association International (ETA)
- Journeyman Certification/License in Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical disciplines (State Certifying Authority)
- Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator — Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA)
- Certified Maintenance Technician Level III — International Maintenance Institute (IMI)
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician — Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP)
- PLC troubleshooting skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Electrical troubleshooting
Work spans office areas and all plant locations, indoors and outdoors. Expect exposure to extreme temperature changes, electrical hazards, ammonia, and heavy moving equipment. Nights and weekends are part of the schedule; occasional travel and overtime may be required. Success requires stress management, collaborative communication, sound judgment in complex situations, keen attention to detail, and strong organization. Must be able to use hand and heavy electric tools and lift at least 45 lbs.
