Fire Sprinkler Technician Trainee / Helper, you will assist the Fire Sprinkler Service Technicians to perform service, repairs, and inspections associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards. Our Fire Sprinkler Service Technician specialized skills, knowledge surround state/federal regulations, and commitment to proper system functioning play a critical role in safeguarding lives, property, and businesses from the devastating effects of fires.
a Fire Sprinkler Technician Trainee / Helper, you will:
- Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow prev enters, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps.
- Work well with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity.
- Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow prev enters, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps.
- Assist with or perform fire sprinkler, fire pump and other water-based equipment inspections and testing.
- Properly document deficiencies/impairments noted during inspections or service work and follow required process of reporting deficiencies while on-site.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
- Generate reports within Siemens digital tools.
- Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site to include customer signature.
- Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training.
- Work the on-call rotation and overtime when needed.
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- This position reports to the local Supervisor and takes direction from a mentor and Lead Technician.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Must be mechanically and/or electrically inclined
- Must be willing and able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
- Must be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our technicians and customers
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
- Willingness and ability to follow and maintain highly structured schedules
- Customer-facing and customer service skills
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
