About the Position – Vocational Electives SpecialistThe Vocational Electives Specialist will focus primarily on curriculum, development, and support of member electives and workplace skills in partnership with our Vocational Supervisors and the Vocational Director. This role will also function as a role model to peers, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, especially related to workplace re‑entry. They will serve as an advocate, providing supportive information and peer support for members in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Using their recovery and/or work‑related experience, Vocational Elective Specialists provide support and resources for members through case management within the framework of the vocational programming, with a focus on developing vocational skills and acquiring full‑time employment upon graduation.
- Facilitate group‑based vocational electives, delivering curriculum and supporting member enrollment aligned with vocational goals.
- Collaborate with department leadership to develop, launch, and refine electives and workplace‑readiness programming.
- Complete administrative tasks related to scheduling, enrollment, documentation, and program coordination.
- Observe members, monitor behavioral or mood changes, and report concerns to clinical staff while supporting daily living, re‑entry, and recovery needs.
- Provide one‑on‑one and group support to help members set recovery goals, build coping skills, combat negative self‑talk, and access self‑help resources.
- Partner with external employers to support vocational pathways and assist members with job search skills, interview preparation, and community social‑skill development.
- Maintain a safe environment by de‑escalating crises, securing sensitive information, supporting supervised outings, and providing transportation when assigned.
- Meet all program KPIs and participate in required clinical supervision, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support our mission.
