ABOUT THIS POSITION
The City of Phoenix Public Transit Department is the largest member of the Valley Metro regional transit system and provides a broad spectrum of transit services. These include local bus services to alternative transportation for individuals with disabilities and senior citizens.
The City's Public Transit Department is seeking Paratransit Contract Manager (Administrative Assistant II) for the Operations Division, Special Transportation Section. The position directly manages the Paratransit Services (Phoenix Dial-a-Ride) contract worth $153 million, as well as other transit-related contracts.
Responsibilities include monitoring transit service providers for compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines relative to paratransit service operations. This position is responsible for directly managing paratransit service and Alternative Transportation Services contracts including documenting contractor performance, reviewing, and approving contractor invoices, tracking program budgets, conducting contractor meetings, ensuring the maintenance of city assets, and managing customer feedback. This position serves as the primary point of contact for ADA customers and must use sound judgment and a high level of sensitivity when responding to and supporting a vulnerable population.
A combination of in-office administrative work and field observations/activities are required as part of contract monitoring duties. Limited telework may be considered after six months of successful job performance.
Work hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; although some flexibility in work hours may be necessary to fulfill some position responsibilities as needs arise. The position is based at the Public Transit building, located at 302 N. 1st Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
SALARY
Pay Range: $66,185.60 to $ annually.
Hiring Range: $66,185.60 to $97,780.80 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.
* Three years of professional experience in public administration or governmental research or finance.
* Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
