Job Title: Social Worker
Salary Schedule: OCC/PTA/ST/SOC Pay Schedule
Work Year: 10 Months
FLSA: Exempt
Clarendon Elementary has been identified by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) as awarded sites for School Safety Program - Year 1 grant funding The social worker position is contingent upon final grant processing in GME.
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and Building Principal, the Licensed School Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Some incumbents may not perform all the duties listed. - Mobilize family, school and community resources to enable children to learn
- Supports the school team to develop behavior assessments and plans
- Attend IEP meetings as needed
- Conduct classroom observation
- Complete home visits for families as needed
- Participate in mental health appointments
- Provide one on one and small group counseling
- Support classrooms with students demonstrating challenging behaviors
- Provide crisis intervention
- Support students learning of appropriate social skills
- Provide staff with a better understanding of cultural, societal, economic, trauma factors impacting children
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Ability to work successfully with a team and independently
Bilingual preferred
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university required.
- Experience in school based social work
- May occasionally be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
