Clarendon Elementary has been identified by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) as an awarded site for the School Safety Program – Year 1 grant funding. The social worker position is contingent upon final grant processing in GME.

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and Building Principal, the Licensed School Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.

• Mobilize family, school and community resources to enable children to learn
• Support the school team to develop behavior assessments and plans
• Attend IEP meetings as needed
• Conduct classroom observation
• Complete home visits for families as needed
• Participate in mental health appointments
• Provide one‑on‑one and small group counseling
• Support classrooms with students demonstrating challenging behaviors
• Provide crisis intervention
• Support students learning appropriate social skills
• Provide staff with a better understanding of cultural, societal, economic, and trauma factors impacting children
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Minimum:
Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university required.

• Experience in school‑based social work

• May occasionally be required to work evenings and/or weekends

Position Type: Full‑Time

Salary: $53,216 to $75,653 Per Year
