SUMMARY
The Vocational Services Specialist provides case management and vocational support services to team members with disabilities working role also offers consultation to Peckham staff to maximize the quality of on-site vocational rehabilitation services.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide intensive crisis intervention, support, and counseling for participants as needed and make recommendations for interventions to promote vocational success.
- Provide person-centered vocational support to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
- Deliver one-on-one counseling, coaching, crisis intervention, and/or training with program participants when needed and/or requested.
- Work to identify strategies to help team members work through everyday crises and workplace accommodations for program participants to assist them in maximizing their vocational success.
- Process program-specific intake documents and maintain electronic case files for program participants.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new participants.
- Assist program participants in developing an individualized program plan in consideration of their vocational goals, strengths, interests, functional limitations, and potential utilization of assistive technology and other job accommodations.
- Work to identify strategies and appropriate assistive technology solutions for program participants to assist them in maximizing their vocational success.
- Process initial intake documents; develop and maintain electronic case files.
- Provide human resources support to program participants, including new hire orientation, FMLA management, interactive process for accommodations, and support with corrective action as needed.
- Communicate with community agencies and provide information about community resources to enhance support services for program participants.
- Work with an interdepartmental team to monitor participants’ progress and enhance the quality of services provided.
- Research and build resources and team knowledge to help team members navigate community resources and internal resources so they can develop independence and self-sustainability.
- Clearly and accurately document information in case files.
- Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Attend community and Peckham events throughout the year.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Assist in the training of people with disabilities as needed.
- Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services with the highest integrity and ethics to all customers and stakeholders.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Education, or a related field OR 2-4 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment in vocational, workforce development, human services, or case management settings.
- Experience assessing participant needs, developing service plans, and supporting individuals in achieving employment or career goals.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and comply with program guidelines, reporting requirements, and confidentiality standards.
- 1-year related experience in case management.
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- Past experience providing clinical support.
- Conflict Management skills and experience.
- Effective Communication and Writing skills.
- Mentoring and Coaching skills and experience.
- Problem Solving and quality focus.
- Stress Management abilities.
- Understanding of public policy and applicable laws.
- Ability to research and build resources through community partners and Peckham programs.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish to provide program supports, instruction, guidance, and services to individuals who use Spanish as their primary or preferred language.
