Speech Language Pathologist

Salary: $50,117.59 to $60,117.59 per year based on experience. Additional $3,000 for National Board‑Certified Teacher (if eligible).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screen all kindergartners and new enrollees.
  • Perform speech and language evaluations in English and/or Spanish (with or without interpreter) to distinguish between developmental delay and second language acquisition.
  • Write diagnostic reports concerning results of assessment, prognosis for therapy and treatment recommendations.
  • Contribute information concerning students at Child Study and/or Multidisciplinary Conferences.
  • Develop individual educational plans and administer treatment according to plan specifications.
  • Coordinate efforts and encourage communication with other staff involved with the child, including classroom teachers, learning disabilities specialists, occupational therapy, art, and music programs.
  • Be available to parents to discuss progress or problems through home visits, parent conferences, phone calls, etc.
  • Conduct a Communications Enrichment program for qualifying Special Education students.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing.
  • Arizona certification in speech and language therapy.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing with credit in Speech/Language practicum.
  • Arizona certification in speech and language therapy.
  • Preference for hearing screenings and passion for preschool‑aged children.

  • Ability to work with individuals and groups of students to support academics.
  • Must have patience working with children.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and staff members.

  • Maintaining accurate, efficient record‑keeping processes.
  • Written and verbal communication.
  • Adapt to changing technology and utilize available tools and resources.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud and can vary in temperature. The nature of this position is fast‑paced and may occasionally be stressful.

Salary/Compensation: $51,118 - $60,118 per year.
