District K-5 Social Worker (Grant Funded)

Job Summary:

The District K-5 Social Worker serves as a key liaison between district elementary schools, families, and community partners to enhance academic achievement, student wellness, and whole-child support. This position works directly with K5 campuses across the district to coordinate services, implement grant initiatives with fidelity, and build sustainable partnerships that support student success. This role is funded through a designated grant and is contingent upon annual funding availability.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred) in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field. Experience working in K5 school settings. Experience with grant-funded programs preferred. Experience working with diverse communities and student populations. Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong understanding of elementary education systems and student support frameworks. Knowledge of community-based organizations and social service systems. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong data analysis and reporting skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all students.

Work Conditions Travel between district elementary campuses and community partner sites. Occasional evening or weekend events for family engagement activities. Position contingent upon grant funding renewal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Implementation & Oversight Coordinate and oversee implementation of grant-funded initiatives across K5 schools. Ensure compliance with grant requirements, timelines, reporting, and documentation. Monitor program effectiveness using data-driven decision-making practices. Prepare required reports for district leadership and grant agencies. Student & Family Support Collaborate with principals, teachers, counselors, and support staff to identify student needs. Coordinate academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional interventions.

Support MTSS processes and student success plans. Connect families to community resources and provide guidance navigating services. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide counseling services to students with IEPs, supporting their social-emotional and academic needs. Community & Organizational Partnerships Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and service agencies. Coordinate services such as mentoring, tutoring, after-school programming, health services, and family engagement initiatives.

Facilitate regular partner meetings to ensure alignment of services with district goals. Formalize agreements (MOUs) and monitor partnership outcomes. Lead and manage the district-wide, annual resource fair. Collaboration & Communication Serve as a liaison between district administration, school staff, and community stakeholders. Communicate regularly with families regarding available resources and supports. Support district-wide family engagement efforts. Data & Accountability Track student participation and program outcomes.

Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Support grant evaluation and sustainability planning.
