Social Support Manager

These connections help ensure youth and adults remain engaged in their planned services to continue progressing toward their goals. In addition, our team serves as an important bridge to the broader community by actively demonstrating and promoting the mission of ACYR through collaboration, outreach, and service.

The Social Support Manager serves as a vital member of the educational/organizational team, supporting students, families, and staff through the lens of trauma-informed care. This position focuses on fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment by identifying and addressing the social, emotional, behavioral, and environmental challenges that impact student success. The Manager has deep knowledge of trauma's impact on development and learning and will integrate this understanding into all aspects of their practice.

The position oversees staff development, student support services, budget administration, and compliance with state and federal regulations while prioritizing the social-emotional needs of students and staff.

Role Responsibilities

Trauma-Informed Leadership and Culture
- Create and sustain a positive, inclusive work climate that prioritizes emotional safety, belonging, and resilience. Implement trauma-sensitive policies that support participants'/students' mental health and academic success. Foster strong relationships with students, families, and staff, ensuring all voices are heard and valued. Promote restorative justice practices in student discipline and conflict resolution. Approach all client interactions with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based perspective.

Staff Support and Development
- Recruit, hire, and retain social support staff and social work interns who embrace trauma-informed practices. Evaluate and support teachers and staff to enhance their effectiveness and professional growth. Implement performance assessments, including classroom observations and coaching sessions. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development. Provide ongoing professional development on trauma-informed education, SEL, and de-escalation strategies.

Participant/Student Support and Engagement
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with students and families. Ensure accessible, culturally competent family engagement initiatives. Promote equitable and inclusive practice. Acts as a liaison between the School, Community, and families including, but not limited to home visits and access to community resources. Assist students with education and academic resources.

Community Engagement
- Partner with mental health professionals and social service organizations to provide wraparound support. Advocate for policies and programs that address the root causes of trauma affecting students. Coordinate with internal departments and external partners (e.g., food banks, shelters, healthcare providers) to provide holistic support and referrals.

Manages and supports SNAP Career Advancement (Can) Program
- Partner with mental health professionals and social service organizations to provide wraparound support. Advocate for policies and programs that address the root causes of trauma affecting students. Coordinate with internal departments and external partners (e.g., food banks, shelters, healthcare providers) to provide holistic support and referrals.

Partner Engagement
- Oversee daily SNAP CAN operations, including services, data management and reporting. Maintain accurate and timely case records…
