MANA (Marines, Army, Navy, Airforce) House is a 76-bed transition shelter serving veteran men that are experiencing homelessness. We help support veterans rebuild their self-sufficiency by providing support from our staff and partners. Services include career counseling, assistance in enrollment in benefits from Veteran Administration (VA), finding permanent and affordable housing, transportation, and safe temporary housing that includes computer access, food, laundry and showers.
Job SummaryProvide second shift coverage of MANA House transitional housing facility serving up to 76 veteran men experiencing homelessness. Ensures smooth and compliant operations of the MANA house, including on-site activities, residents' behavior, safety and well-being and adherence to policies.
Job DutiesMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. 6 months of experience working with homeless populations, veterans, substance abuse, mental health preferred. Veteran with Honorable Discharge preferred. Peer Certification preferred.
Current knowledge of best practices for working with people experiencing chronic homelessness, veterans, mental health issues and/or substance abuse. Ability to work with individuals from a diverse background. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Perform physical tasks that can be repetitive. Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with clients to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours as needed. May lift up to 25 pounds.
- Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance.
- Must have or complete within 90 days of hire, training in CPR and First Aid and remain current in the certification.
- Possesses or acquires, and maintains, valid Maricopa County Environmental Services Food Service Worker Certificate
Hourly rate starting at $16.00 plus an extra $1.50 2nd shift differential = $17.50, and may increase depending on experience.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday from 3:00pm to 11:00pm.
