About the Role

The Communications Specialist I provides mentorship, correspondence, resource navigation, and reentry preparation support to individuals who are currently incarcerated. Through letters, telephone calls, electronic communication, curriculum, and resource sharing, this role helps participants identify needs, prepare for release, and connect with resources that support successful community reintegration.

This role is ideal for someone who

  • Is organized and comfortable managing detailed records and correspondence

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Communicating with participants through letters, calls, email, and other approved channels
  • Providing mentorship, approved curriculum, resources, and reentry guidance
  • Helping participants identify housing, recovery, community, and other reentry resources
  • Processing correspondence and maintaining accurate participant records in Salesforce
  • Monitoring participant information for needs, progress, concerns, and reentry barriers
  • Collaborating with ADCRR personnel, families, community partners, and internal departments
  • Meeting documentation, quality, productivity, and departmental expectations

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Relevant experience or demonstrated knowledge of incarceration, corrections, reentry, recovery, peer support, criminal justice, or human services
  • Working knowledge of recovery principles and community reentry needs
