Job Description:The University of Phoenix, Inc. seeks an Engineer III based in Phoenix, AZ to develop and design software applications.
Design, develop, code, test, and debug new and existing software applications and installed hardware. Develop and deploy cloud services. Install IT systems using university technology standards. Administer systems, including performing maintenance and system upgrades. Ensure IT security protocols are followed. Develop enhancements to existing IT systems and improve the functionality and compatibility of existing applications using engineering releases and utilities. Customize IT systems and maintain program libraries and technical manuals.
Optimize hardware through software benchmarking. Provide direction and support to less experienced IT engineers to increase their understanding of software development practices and procedures. Test software applications and develop automated tests. Review and analyze test results, witness tests, and certify software for production. Maintain and increase professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S 5 days per week. Annual salary: $122,398
- Master’s in Computer Science or a related field and 1 year (or Bachelor’s and 5 progressive years) of software development experience.
- Java and Python programming languages
- HTML, CSS, and SQL
- Data structures and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- AWS Cloud services and tools, including: AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), Amazon ECS (Elastic Container Service)
- Designing and deploying REST APIs and working with API endpoints
- Microservices architecture and automated deployment pipelines
- CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) tools and processes
- Agile or Scaled Agile environments
- Software development and design, Deployment of cloud services, Hardware installation, System administration, and Cybersecurity
- Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
