Senior Software Engineer – Cybersecurity Tools & Product Risk Systems

Join a leading aerospace and defense technology organization advancing the security of next-generation flight systems. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong cybersecurity awareness and a deep understanding of secure software development. You will help design, build, and maintain internal tools that streamline cybersecurity processes, automate risk management workflows, and improve collaboration between technical and security teams.

You’ll work closely with subject matter experts across cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance to create scalable, intuitive solutions that enhance transparency, accelerate analysis, and support data-driven security decisions across product life cycles.

This position combines software development, systems integration, and user experience design — with a focus on reliability, compliance, and innovation.

• Lead the end-to-end development and support of internal cybersecurity and risk management tools used across engineering programs
• Design, implement, and maintain custom integrations within enterprise collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira and related systems)
• Build and optimize automated workflows connecting cybersecurity, compliance, and engineering systems
• Architect backend solutions using Java/Groovy and Python
  , ensuring scalability and maintainability
• Develop dashboards and reporting systems that consolidate data from multiple security and engineering sources
• Modernize and extend existing platforms for risk assessment and vulnerability tracking
• Work collaboratively with global teams supporting 24/7 operations in a highly regulated environment
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to improving secure coding and software development practices
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, define priorities, and implement improvements focused on usability and performance

• Minimum of 6 years’ professional software development experience in a complex, security-sensitive environment
• Extensive background in Jira customization and administration
  , including workflow design, integrations, and scripting
• Advanced coding skills in Java/Groovy and Python
  , with strong experience using APIs, plugins, and service integrations
• Ability to work independently on technically challenging projects and provide leadership within a small development team
• Deep understanding of user experience design principles for technical and security-focused tools
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities with a focus on reliability and availability

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience developing or maintaining custom Jira integrations using REST APIs and middleware
• Familiarity with software composition analysis and static analysis tools (e.g., Black Duck, Coverity, SD Elements)
• Knowledge of cloud services
