Java Developer (Contract)

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance systems while ensuring strong unit test coverage, integration reliability, and cloud‑ready deployments.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $47/hour. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Developer

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale Java backend applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
  • Own end‑to‑end technical delivery, including analysis, development, unit testing, integration testing, and production support.
  • Build and maintain high‑quality unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to ensure strong code coverage.
  • Collaborate with product owners and cross‑functional teams to prioritize features and deliver sprint commitments.
  • Optimize application performance for sub‑second response times and troubleshoot issues across test and production environments.
  • Contribute to cloud‑native development initiatives leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools while following best engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience building large‑scale Java backend applications.
  • Strong experience with Core Java, Spring Boot, unit testing (JUnit/Mockito), and cloud‑based environments.
Pay Details

$45.00 to $47.00 per hour.
