Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, C++ Developer
As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support aerospace applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products that meet customer and business requirements. You will report directly to our Sr. Software Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
External hires will begin with 90 days on site before transitioning to a 3/2 hybrid schedule. In this role, you will impact the development of innovative aerospace software systems that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and performance across the aviation industry.
- Design, develop, and test software applications for aerospace systems
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to integrate software with embedded systems
- Participate in code reviews and implement software testing procedures to ensure quality
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded or aerospace software environments
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and embedded systems integration
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Knowledge of software debugging tools and version control systems like Git
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience programming in Ada for safety‑critical aerospace systems
- Experience working in aerospace or defense industries
- Familiarity with model‑based design and simulation tools
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Passion for innovation, problem‑solving, and continuous learning
