Job Description
As a Software Engineer I in the Electronic Solutions (ES) Software Engineering Transformation (SET) organization, you will work in a strong and dynamic teaming environment interfacing with engineers from many different avionics groups across the broader ES organization. This includes Flight Management Systems, Displays, Flight Controls and others producing embedded software for customers such as Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Embraer and Dassault.
This role is located in Phoenix, Arizona and includes the standardization of software and system integration activities, coordination with satellite integration organizations on builds, infrastructure and test bench productivity. Activities may include software build creation and configuration, debug support in a lab setting, operating system support, and tool development.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software build systems and automation tools to support engineering teams
- Collaborate with software engineers to understand build requirements and provide effective tooling solutions
- Identify and resolve issues related to software builds and integration processes to ensure smooth delivery
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- Experience or internships related to software build systems, automation, or tool development
- Knowledge of software build tools, scripting languages, and version control systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ to develop and maintain build tools
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and related technologies
- Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Experience with software engineering support or Dev Ops practices
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion for learning new technologies and improving software development processes
