Software Engineer I – Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Solutions
As a Software Engineer I at Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Solutions, you will help shape the future of flight by designing, developing, and integrating next‑generation avionics systems for both fixed‑wing aircraft and Urban Air Mobility platforms. Your work will span the full system lifecycle from definition and integration to validation and verification, supporting laboratory and on‑aircraft testing to ensure performance, reliability, and certification readiness.

Work ScheduleHybrid. For the first 90 days, new hires must work 100% onsite, Monday–Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Support IMA systems software integration activities.
- Assist with software validation and verification efforts.
- Contribute to key program indicator tracking and validation.
- Participate in requirements analysis and decomposition.
- Support model‑based development and system design activities.
- Assist with integration testing and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as physics, computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
- 1+ years of experience in software engineering, avionics, or a related technical field (including internships, co‑ops, or academic projects).
- Experience with programming languages C, C++, Python, and Power Shell.
- Experience with real‑time operating systems (e.g., DEOS, ARINC 653).
- Experience with debuggers such as gdb and Visual Studio.
- Exposure to software development lifecycle concepts and best practices.
- Exposure to IO protocols such as CAN and ARINC 429.
- Basic understanding of software integration, validation, and verification.
- Exposure to data loading standards or avionics communication protocols is a plus.
- Exposure to Avionics system standards such as DO 178 B/C, DO 254, and ARP 4754A.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated individuals who take initiative and are eager to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to apply new concepts quickly.
