As a Lead AI Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence solutions tailored to aerospace systems and software engineers, driving innovation and enhancing system capabilities.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the advancement of aerospace technologies by integrating AI‑driven insights and automation, contributing to more efficient, and cutting‑edge systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of AI models and algorithms specific to aerospace systems and software development.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including software, hardware, and systems engineers to integrate AI solutions into our everyday workflow.
  • Drive innovation by researching and applying the latest AI technologies and methodologies to our tools and processes.
  • Oversee the testing, validation, and optimization of AI models to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Mentor and guide junior AI engineers and data scientists within the team.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present AI project outcomes to stakeholders.
Qualifications

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • Extensive experience in developing and deploying AI and machine learning models in aerospace or related engineering fields.
  • Strong expertise in AI frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or similar, with a deep understanding of neural networks and deep learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python and C++ for AI model development and integration.
  • Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model optimization.
  • Knowledge of aerospace systems and the ability to translate complex aerospace problems into AI solutions.
We Value
  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven track record of leading AI projects in aerospace or high‑technology industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and AI deployment at scale.
  • Ability to mentor and develop technical teams.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying current with AI advancements.
