Driver - Installer - Company Paid Travel
The position of Driver - Installer is responsible for operating as a lead when on-site, managing a crew of helpers to ensure timely loading/unloading, transporting, and delivery. In this critical role you are to ensure excellent customer service is provided to our clients, sales representatives and staff. You are responsible for the quality of our delivery, including ensuring no damage occurs to client and event property (home, walkways, stairs, furnishings, etc.),
Events Unlimited property (trucks, inventory, etc.), or city property (fire hydrants, planters, curbs, etc.).
- Serves as a model example of work ethic, safety and professionalism to coworkers.
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Turn in paperwork for deliveries and picks ups properly documenting overages and shortages.
- Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Verifies all routes, assignments prior to departure.
- Verifies all loads for installation and pickup and maintains accurate records of all inventory used from warehouse to jobsite and back to warehouse.
- Loads truck efficiently and safely, to prevent load shifts and damage to inventory.
- Oversees and supervises helpers to facilitate efficient loading, delivery, installation and pickup of equipment.
- Provides a customer service approach to communication and interactions with sales people, clients and coworkers, to ensure professional and quality representation of Events Unlimited.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, while operating a company vehicle.
- Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition and communicate any concerns.
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to office when you become aware (i.e. immediately).
- Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards.
- Adheres to company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Overtime – will be required to be worked during the busy season and must be approved by your manager prior to being worked.
- Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others to ensure timely delivery and pick up of inventory items; ability to communicate with Office as soon as you are aware of potential delays for your stops.
The services provided by Events Unlimited is seasonal and will result is varying work hours which at times will require you to work over-time or may result in slower periods. While this is a regular full-time (30+ hour) position, you may be asked to work overtime (when approved by your manager) or your hours may be reduced nts Unlimited will do everything possible to maintain a standard work week.
This includes supporting other departments such as Warehouse, Sub-Floor, Dishroom or Laundry.
The position requires overnights and traveling as needed to meet Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and to service the needs of our customers. Company pays for all travel, lodging, and provides food allowance.
