Aboutthe Role
This leadership position oversees day-to-day delivery operations for a specialized fleet of dump trucks supporting clients across the state. The right candidate will bring a blend of logistics expertise, strategic vision, and hands-on leadership. You’ll partner closely with executive leadership to improve efficiency, maintain a strong safety culture, and enable growth from a small fleet to a scalable transportation powerhouse.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of delivery operations, including routing, scheduling, dispatch, fleet utilization, and driver oversight
- Manage a team of drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff with a focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiency and service quality
- Serve as a trusted right-hand to executive leadership, maintaining daily communications and delivering operational transparency
- Administer compliance programs related to DOT, insurance, and drug/alcohol testing
- Establish and enhance customer relationships with contractors and direct clients across Arizona
- Assist in technology upgrades and process automation to modernize dispatching and logistics functions
- Develop and manage the transportation division’s budget, cost controls, and vendor contracts
- 5+ years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management, ideally within bulk materials, aggregates, or construction services
- Proven success in overseeing a delivery fleet and related personnel, ideally with dump trucks or similar heavy equipment
- Strong understanding of routing, dispatch, load optimization, and vehicle maintenance best practices
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, safety audits, and insurance compliance
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, handle driver/staff dynamics, and instill accountability across a team
- Comfortable working early morning or late evening hours as needed to support 6-day operations
- Experience with Microsoft Office and dispatch/fleet management software (implementation experience a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-first approach
