The primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleaning and upkeep of aircraft exteriors. This includes washing, waxing, and polishing aircraft to achieve safety and aesthetic standards, minimizing ground time, inspecting for surface damage or wear, and reporting findings to leadership.
Responsibilities- Wash and clean the exterior of aircraft, including fuselage, wings, and tail
- Use specialized cleaning products and equipment to remove dirt, grease, and stains
- Document cleaning activities and report any irregularities to supervisors
- Inspect the aircraft's exterior for damage or maintenance issues and report findings
- Follow all safety protocols while working at heights and around aircraft
- Coordinate with ground crew and maintenance staff for aircraft positioning and safety
- Comply with environmental regulations regarding use and disposal of cleaning solvents and fluids
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment storage
- Ensure aircraft appearance meets airline and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with team members to complete cleaning tasks efficiently and on time
- Participate in training sessions on new cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Assist in de-icing of aircraft during winter operations (if required)
- May be assigned other duties as required
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Valid state-issued driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, including documents
- Ability to use electronic devices such as iPads, tablets, computers, and mobile devices
- Effective communication in person and electronically
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, U.S. Postal as applicable)
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as airlines operate 24/7
- Lift up to 70 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking indoors/outdoors as applicable
- Push, pull, and reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Work at elevated heights
- Exposure to outdoor elements
- Bend, stretch, squat, and kneel as required
- Crawl and crouch in confined tight spaces
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels
- Exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms
- Perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers
- Specific vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
