The Sr Dispatcher plays a critical role in facilitating the efficient and timely transport of customer vehicles to and from auction sites and other designated locations. This position requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage carrier relationships, resolve transport issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Facilitate the transport of customer vehicles to and from auction sites and other areas.
- Contact customers to determine vehicle availability and condition.
- Schedule vehicle pick-up and delivery with customers and transporters.
- Assist with reconciliation of transporter related issues.
- Notify customer account representatives and transporter of vehicle transportation related issues.
- Monitor and report on customer and transporter performance.
- Compile vehicle transportation related data and generate routine reports.
- Follow job related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Coordinate transportation of vehicles by contacting carriers in the company's established network.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with network carriers.
- Track shipment/delivery information, resolving problems as they arise; problems may include missing vehicles, damaged vehicles, and late arriving vehicles.
- Escalate complex or difficult to solve issues according to established escalation procedures.
- Proactively locate new carriers to join the Cox network.
- Audit carrier performance over time, identifying systemic issues and working with carrier representatives to resolve.
- Address customer and other transport issues escalated from team members, customers, carrier representatives or other stakeholders.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal partners to solve problems and ensure customers' needs are met.
- Provide advice and coaching for less experienced team members.
- Clearly communicate broader organizational objectives and the team's role/impact.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years' experience with at least 1 year of experience in logistics dispatching.
- Previous auto transportation/logistics experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to make decisions.
- Customer service skills.
- Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills.
- De-escalation skills are required and flawless follow-up abilities are a must.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulations impacting daily operations (DOT - national and state).
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $22.02 - $33.08 per hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
BenefitsEmployees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
