Truck Driver & Furniture Mover

American Furniture Rental (AFR) is looking for an experienced Truck Driver & Furniture mover in our warehouse in Phoenix, AZ (University & 16 street).

Must meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) qualifications requirements - English Language Proficiency Under 49 CFR 391.11.

Must have a valid driver’s license with no violations in the past twelve months and be able to pass a DOT physical test.

Per Federal Regulations a DOT Medical card is required to drive commercial vehicles.

The Driver/Installer will be responsible for completing assigned routes for deliveries and pickups of merchandise, ensuring proper installation according to floor plans, and assisting with shipping and receiving responsibilities to support the warehouse department. This role applies to residential, commercial, special events, and trade show drivers/installers.

• Operate company vehicles professionally and courteously while observing all DOT safety rules and regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance checks (DOT pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections) and report any malfunctions to management.
• Deliver, install, and pick up merchandise from warehouses, vendors, and customers in a timely manner with attention to detail.
• Fill delivery orders by obtaining required merchandise and completing appropriate paperwork.
• Protect products and items using furniture pads, cover‑ups, and other provided protection materials.
• Read, comprehend, and complete all paperwork associated with deliveries, ensuring consistency with customer invoices and delivery/pickup documentation.
• Maintain the toolkit provided by AFR in good condition and notify management if replacements are needed.
• Confirm with clients that all delivered items are in good condition and obtain their signature on the delivery document.
• Inspect delivery or pickup sites, note any damage, take pictures, and notify management prior to installation or pickup.
• Upon picking up furniture, confirm item condition, report damage or missing items, and send photos to management before loading onto the truck.
• Relay customer messages and communications to appropriate management.
• Maintain a neat and clean workplace.
• Assist with stocking the shipping and receiving department, including lifting and carrying cartons and placing them on shelves.
• Receive a floorplan and execute deliveries with other helpers.
• Wear the AFR uniform provided during all work hours.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Languages:
  
  English preferred;
  Spanish (verbal and written) is desirable.

• At least six months of experience in a similar industry, with warehousing and inventory knowledge from a delivery company or similar industry.
• Required to operate a 26’ box truck.

• Valid driver’s license meeting insurance underwriting requirements (no points or violations in the past twelve months).
• Able to pass DOT Physical test, which includes pre‑employment drug testing.
• Background check is required.

• Must lift 75 pounds, climb stairs, bend, crouch, and remain physically active for extended periods.
• Adhere to and comply with DOT regulations.
