Transportation Coordinator

Overview

Please note this is an overnight shift – Friday through Tuesday (four 10‑hour shifts). The Transportation Coordinator oversees day‑to‑day logistics operations of inbound product and material shipping from supply vendors into the Distribution Centers, and outbound deliveries to all store locations and other locations as needed. This position ensures every planned shipment is scheduled and delivered efficiently and cost‑effectively while maintaining on‑time and customer service standards for both internal and external customers.

The coordinator supports and completes administrative processes, resolves process exceptions using tracking systems and direct communication with carriers, business leaders, drivers, and associates. The role strives for continuous process improvement.

• Resolve system tracking events that could lead to late or incomplete shipments.
• Ensure all required volume and financial information is completely and accurately documented.
• Collaborate with procurement to assist in product flow and vendor management.
• Assist with efficient load routing while seeking cost‑saving opportunities.
• Manage performance of third‑party carriers including track and trace, problem resolution, and long‑term strategic goals.
• Ensure fleet drivers comply with all DOT regulations.
• Lead and implement various projects and transportation initiatives as required.
• Conduct operations in accordance with FMCSA and other safety programs and regulations.
• Ensure status information is updated timely in tracking systems; handle calls efficiently to reduce driver and customer wait times and process activities promptly.
• Identify improvement areas and work with leadership to provide excellent service.
• Work flexible/rotating shifts, including weekends.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of tractors, trailers, and other transportation equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and decision‑making skills, and ability to work on cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet strict time frames and deadlines.
