Job Overview
As a P&D Driver, you pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally. You will be the face of southeastern Freight Lines, serving our customers on a regular basis. You will operate a tractor‑trailer in various conditions, performing tasks such as coupling and uncoupling, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment. Your responsibilities include conducting vehicle inspections, managing the loading and unloading of cargo, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of transport documents, especially when handling hazardous materials.
Skilled maneuvering in challenging environments like heavy traffic and tight spaces is essential. You will report any incidents or delays and adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. You must always focus on excellent customer service and professionalism.
- Pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally.
- Operate tractor‑trailer vehicles in various conditions.
- Perform vehicle inspections and ensure equipment is safe and operational.
- Load and unload cargo while maintaining proper handling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate transport documents, including hazardous materials paperwork.
- Report incidents, delays, and any safety concerns promptly.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service and professional representation of the company.
- Minimum 6 months of driving experience (1 year preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailer endorsements, no automatic restrictions.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English; perform simple mathematical calculations; handle receipts; read maps and road signs.
- Detailed knowledge of and compliance with DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines, including safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and hazardous material transportation.
- Meeting DOT physical qualifications.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests.
Pay: $94,731‑$103,332 annually (average annual pay may vary based on experience, hours, and location).
Work Shift:
Second Shift.
