Responsibilities
Valley Hospital (private 122 bed psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health care and chemical dependency) seeks a dynamic and talented Full‑Time Van Driver to join our team. The van driver will provide transportation of patients to and from the facility, offering continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling while maintaining safety at all times.
- Transport patients to and from the facility on a schedule that may include Saturdays.
- Maintain continuous observation and interaction with patients during transportation.
- Ensure van safety and report all maintenance issues to the Transportation Coordinator.
- Keep the van log up‑to‑date with accurate addresses and phone numbers.
- Communicate and consult with the Transportation Coordinator and other staff regarding patient care issues and information.
- Provide a clean, professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Follow all legal and safety regulations related to patient transportation.
Preferred
:
Previous experience as a transportation driver.
Licensure and
Certifications:
- Valid, class‑specific driver’s license applicable to the transportation of patients.
- Valid CPR card prior to the start date.
- Must be 18 years or older with a good driving record obtained from the Department of Public Safety.
- Must agree to a Missouri Vehicle Department (MVD) check as part of the background check process.
Additional Requirements:
- Complete training in seclusion and restraint procedures (SAMA) within 90 days of employment.
- May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
