Position Summary
The Warehouse Helper supports daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced HHG and project logistics environment. This role is responsible for handling, staging, inventorying, and preparing household goods shipments and specialized project freight while maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards. The position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Load, unload, and stage HHG and specialty project products
- Assist with packing, crating, and protection of customer goods to prevent damage
- Support project freight handling, including oversized, high-value, or sensitive materials
- Assist with receiving and outbound shipment processing, including verifying counts and condition
- Maintain warehouse organization, including proper stacking, slotting, and housekeeping
- Operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and (if certified) forklifts
- Follow all company safety protocols and HHG handling standards
- Assist drivers and crews with loading/unloading trucks as needed
- Identify and report damages, discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly
- Support periodic inventory audits and cycle counts
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse, moving, or logistics experience preferred (HHG experience a plus)
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 75 lbs regularly
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and reliability
- Experience with HHG (Household Goods) packing and handling standards
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanning
- Experience handling high-value or specialized freight
- Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- May require overtime, weekends, or flexible scheduling based on workload
