This is a fast paced, labor intensive position and attention to detail is a MUST.
This is a physical, fast‑paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering, and sliding 25 to 50 lbs, in extreme refrigerated temperatures.
Warehouse order pickers are responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the loading dock in a manner that meets the company’s standards for productivity, efficiency, and responsibility. The order puller is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. The order puller must be consistent, attentive to detail and informed about the products the company provides to be able to provide the customers exactly what they need and expect.
They will select according to a pick ticket, inspect for quality and transfer this product to the dock.
Must be able to endure a refrigerated warehouse environment with temperatures as low as 30 degrees, and capable of standing for long periods of time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Locate and accurately pull orders in a timely fashion (minimum 130 p , 150 p average).
- Stage orders together on the dock.
- Load checked orders onto trucks (as needed).
- Pull shorted items when assigned to shorts (as needed).
- Ensure the accuracy of pulled product (double check quality and quantity).
- Follow truck loading and unloading procedures.
- Follow inventory procedures (First in first out).
- Clean and maintain the warehouse inside and out (This includes all coolers; pick up trash; sweeping floor and back dock area and empty trash as needed).
- Communicate with supervisors and warehouse department employees any issues related to performing duties.
- Find and communicate ways to improve and/or increase productivity.
- Maintain a safe work environment. Follow all HACCP, SQF and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Able to frequently lift 50–75 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-placement drug test and physical.
- Must be self‑motivated, organized and have excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs unassisted and deliver, load and unload 15–20 deliveries a day.
- Must be able to walk considerable distances in the facility during the course of work.
- Must be able to lift and move objects from one level to another during the shift.
- Must be able to pull or push exerting force up to a certain number of pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to carry objects on a regular basis in his or her arms or on the shoulders.
- Must be able to grasp and pick up objects with fingers.
- Must be able to reach regularly and use hands and arms to reach for objects.
- Stooping and crouching required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
- Must be able to use color determination – the job requires color vision (no color blindness).
- Must be able to speak, listen, taste, or smell as required to distinguish differences in quality of flavors and/or odors.
