Position SummaryNight Loaders organize the loading dock and load Ore Pac trucks with customer orders per route sequence in a safe and efficient manner. This labor‑intensive position requires heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and occasional work ety is a top priority.

- Operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts or combilifts to manipulate and move product.
- Take inventory of all materials to be loaded and ensure accurate staging, securing, and shrink‑wrapping or wrapping for protection. Communicate any visible damage to management for resolution the next business day.
- Determine appropriate loading configuration considering stop order, product mix, and routing to maximize cube utilization.
- Load product onto trailer and secure it to prevent shifting during transport and avoid in‑transit damage.
- Complete replenishment of product as needed and as time permits.
- Perform forklift duties after completing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate, including staging/stacking materials, operating the forklift safely, refueling with propane, and checking fluid levels.
- Read, write, and communicate in English related to job and safety regulations.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE as designated by Ore Pac’s safety program.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision while achieving quality and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One or more years of experience in a warehouse environment (preferred).
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in lieu of the listed requirements.
- Regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly see, talk, and hear. Requires close vision, ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms regularly.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods, lift/move/manipulate up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Steer, reach, and handle dunnage if forklift duties are assigned.
- Noise level is usually moderate/loud.
- Employee frequently works in high, precarious places.
- Employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
- Clothing should be tasteful and appropriate for Ore Pac business and type of work performed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Report incidents and accidents to supervisor within 24 hours.
- Maintain work area in a safe and healthful condition.
- Report and whenever possible correct unsafe working conditions to branch leadership.
- Operate vehicles safely and lawfully.
- Assist in reducing or eliminating workplace hazards.
- Comply with company drug testing policies and procedures.
- Comply with company PPE policies;
Ore Pac provides required PPE.
